France has eight best known wine regions which are Alsace, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne ,Loire, Provence and the Rhone Valley. These are popular France wine regions for their wide variety of grapes.
GRAPE VARIETIES:
There are numerous varieties of grapes found in each of the wine regions in France. These grapes are highly valued when it comes to manufacturing wine. Bordeaux’s left bank region of Medoc is favorable for various grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc while the right bank region of St. Emillion and Pomerol also thrives with merlot (70%) and cabernet franc (25%) as well as White Semillon Sauvignon Blanc Muscadelle and other grapes (5%). Burgundy is known for its quality grape varieties which are Pinot Noir (29%), Pinot Meunier (39%), Chardonnay and Gamay.

All traditional styles of wine such as red, white, sparkling, fortified and rose are produced in France wine regions.
